W’Africa to celebrate business excellence at AABLA in Lagos

businessONE of the continent’s prestigious private sector awards, the yearly All Africa Business Leaders Awards (AABLA) in partnership with CNBC Africa, heads to Lagos, Nigeria, this week. It is to celebrate the pioneers and change-makers of West Africa.
 
With West Africa’s finalists having been revealed for their significant contributions to the region’s success, the third and last regional round of the AABLA will take place at Eko Hotels and Suites in the former Nigerian capital tomorrow to announce this year’s winners and celebrate the awards’ fifth anniversary.

Regional winners will then vie for the ultimate title of Africa’s business icon in their sector at the AABLA in partnership with CNBC Africa Grande Finale in Johannesburg on November 13, 2015, hosted by Bakgatla-Ba-Kgafela.
 
The finalists for each category in the West African round are:
Young Business Leader of the Year – West Africa presented by Lancaster University, Ghana
Ahonsi Unuigbe, Chief Executive of Petralon Energy Nigeria
Nteff Alain, Co-founder of The Gifted Mom
Yetunde A. Odugbesan, Chief Executive Officer of Yetunde Global Consulting
Entrepreneur of the Year – West Africa presented by Sea Harvest
Paul Orajiaka, Chief Executive Officer of Auldon Limited
Swaady Martin-Leke, Founder and Chief Exective Officer of YSWARA Luxe
Obinna Ekezie, Chief Executive Officer of Wakanow
Business Leader of the Year – West Africa Presented by Bosch
Segun Agbaje, Managing Director of GTBank
Issam Darwish, Chief Executive Officer of IHS Holding Ltd.
John Bonoh Sisay, Chief Executive Officer of Sierra Rutile
Business Woman of the Year – West Africa

The Lifetime Achievement Award presented by IHS will once again be selected by the judging committee and announced on the night. As a new category to the fold, the Industrialist of the Year category presented by EcoBank, will take on a similar format.

“Reviewing some of the West African 2015 finalists, the region presents some very strong candidates and we look forward to seeing who will take this years regional honours and represent West Africa at the All Africa Finale to be hosted in Johannesburg,” Alexander Leibner, Head of ABN Productions, producers of the AABLA, said.

Guests will again be treated to the best of Jaguar Land Rover at each of the regional events, with Arik Air as the official Airline Partner and Lagos Business School supporting the event as the Knowledge Partner. The 2015 AABLA hosts will be dressed by Carducci.
