WAI intensifies strategies to reduce indiscipline in Lagos
The War Against indiscipline (WAI) brigade, Lagos State chapter has organized induction course and leadership training for members to further reduce indiscipline in the society.
Speaking at the programme, the Director National Orientation Agency, Lagos State, Waheed Ishola, said the WAI Brigade is an offshoot of the National Orientation Agency and the present administration is keen about tackling insecurity in the state.
The newly elected state commander of WAI, Lagos State, Comrade Ogunjimi Taiwo said the brigade came into existence in 1973 during the administration of President Muhammad Buhari to curb indiscipline and lawlessness in the country.
”WAI brigade is a voluntary organization, we are not paid salary but that does not deter us from doing what is right, that is the reason why it is mandated on every member to have a visible source of income.”
He added: “we are very vigilant about terrorism. We are always at alert, when they said Boko Haram has entered Lagos State, we sent a team to investigate.”
He urged members to take seriously the induction programme that was put together to advice any member from getting into trouble in the cause of discharging their duties as a leader.
