Warri Kingdom has secured trilateral partnership with the city of Calgary and the Tsuut’ina nation in Canada. This happened in the ongoing official visit of Ogiame and Olori Atuwatse III to Canada.

The week-long visit, which began on June 1 enabled them to meet key officials in Calgary and Brampton, Canada, with the primary objective of fostering relationships that could birth viable economic and trade partnerships that would transform the fortunes of Warri Kingdom.

The partnership was brokered during a closed session between the monarch and delegations from the Nigerian High Commission, the Canadian Global Affairs Commission, the city of Calgary, the Tsuut’ína nation and other relevant stakeholders.

Described as a first-of-its-kind partnership with any African city, the Tsuut’ina nation extended a warm hand of collaboration between its territory and Warri for investment and tourism opportunities between the two cultural cities.

The session began with the official welcome of the monarch, his wife and their entourage by representatives of the Nigerian High Commission and proceeded to series of presentations on the potential of trade partnerships between the Canadian Government, Calgary, Tsuut’ina nation and Warri.

The presentations held high prospects on the long overdue shift from an oil-led mono-economy to a broader more stable diversification into innovative agriculture and tourism in Warri Kingdom.

Companies thriving in Canada’s innovations, agricultural and energy sector also made presentations on their offerings for middle to long-term investment possibilities in Warri.

Also present at the session with their respective value propositions were the Trade Commissioner for Global Affairs, Samuel Boateng; Business Development Managers, Agriculture and Energy and Environment, Calgary Economic Development, Brady Stadnicki and Chris Brown and the Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Blue Spark Energy, Chris Graham.

Other highpoints of the day were tours to the Tsuut’ina nation’s territory and the First Nation’s key landmarks with the Chief of Tsuut’ina nation, Andrew JR Onespot Xakiji Sidodiand and members of his Council.
