In a bold move set to shake up Nigeria’s bulk messaging industry, tech startup Sendar has officially launched with a commitment to a 99.7% SMS delivery rate and an unprecedented refund policy for failed messages.
Founded by a team of seasoned technology entrepreneurs, including Mr. Temitope Orilua, the platform is targeting long-standing pain points experienced by Nigerian businesses—namely, unreliable message delivery and poor accountability by SMS vendors.
“Our goal was simple,” said Mr. Orilua, who was named Emerging Tech Entrepreneur of the Year 2024 by the Nigerian Technology Awards. “Build a system people can trust. If a business pays to communicate with customers, they deserve transparency and results.”
Sendar’s key differentiator lies in its offer to refund clients for every undelivered SMS—an industry-first in the Nigerian market. Built on high-speed delivery infrastructure and equipped with intelligent routing algorithms and DND bypass for whitelisted IDs, the platform already serves SMEs, banks, schools, hotels, and logistics firms.
The company is also planning to roll out integrations with WhatsApp Business API and AI-powered voice agents in the coming months, aiming to become a fully unified communication solution for African businesses.
With performance levels rivaling top international platforms, Sendar is positioning itself as Nigeria’s most dependable bulk SMS and OTP provider
