‘Our MD Wasn’t On The Run

The Management of Lekki Estates Limited, promoters of Lekki Gardens, has expressed condolences to families of the 34 persons who lost their lives when one of the company’s properties collapsed in Lagos.

The firm also said that contrary to reports, the company’s Managing Director (MD), Mr. Richard Nyong, submitted himself for questioning by the Police.

They argued that Nyong couldn’t have absconded knowing that the matter was the sensitive and involved loss of lives, adding that the episode was unfortunate as the firm had strived to provide decent, affordable and convenient housing solutions to Nigerians.

In a statement yesterday, signed by the company’s spokesperson Steve Agbiboa, the firm said it was at a loss over the tragic incident and promised to do everything within its capacity to forestall future occurrence.
