Why crime is on the increase, by Prison Boss
The Deputy Controller of Oba Prison, Abeokuta, Ogun State, Mr. Kayode Odeyemi, has attributed the high rate of crime in the country to the failure of religious bodies and parents in discharging their responsibilities.
Odeyemi said this during a seven-day programme tagged, “Freedom Week”, organised for inmates to participate in sports, games and religious activities.
He lamented the bad state of prisons in Nigeria, attributing it to the slow administration of criminal justice.
At the event held at the prison yard yesterday, members of the Latter Rain Assembly Church, Lagos, donated computers to the computer room, books for the library, food items, feeding pans, among others, to the inmates.
