Former Lagos State Commissioner for Wealth Creation and Employment, and Chief Executive Officer, Musaroq Nigeria Limited, Mrs. Uzamat Akinbile-Yusuf, has called on well-meaning Nigerians to always support government at all levels in building a functional society.
Akinbile-Yusuf made the call on Friday when she led management and staff of the Musaroq Conglomerate to the General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye, Lagos, to make a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) donation.
The visit was part of activities lined up to mark the 20th anniversary of the conglomerate. Akinbile-Yusuf, who announced the donation of a substantial amount of money “to support the operations of the hospital” said “government cannot be left to do everything.”
She lauded the hospital’s unwavering commitment to quality healthcare and reaffirmed her company’s dedication to supporting public institutions. Recalling the 20-year journey, she noted that the road has been rough but for her consistency over the years. She advised young entrepreneurs on the importance of integrity while growing their businesses even in the face of challenges.
Akinbile-Yusuf announced that as part of the anniversary reward for customers, the company would commence discount sales across the conglomerate from August 1.
Medical Director and Chief Executive Officer, General Hospital, Ifako-Ijaiye, Dr. Bamidele Mustapha, expressed delight at the gesture from Musaroq Limited.
“We don’t really get this sort of gesture from Nigerians. My experience here has been that of having to write and solicit support all around, without getting half of what you solicit for.
“But in her case, she came on her volition to donate a huge sum of money to support the hospital operations, and I have gotten the alert immediately. It is unlike the other promises or donations that you would have to be following up on for several months. We sincerely appreciate her and use this opportunity to call on other well-meaning Nigerians to take a cue from Mrs Akinbile-Yusuf,” he said.
Mustapha praised the initiative, emphasising the importance of private sector collaboration in enhancing service delivery and staff motivation in public institutions.
