• Urges Igbo to vote against godfatherism, patronage against country, S’East
The World Igbo Congress (WIC) said it is determined to work with all democratic institutions in the world to expose anyone involved in fraud during the last presidential and National Assembly elections.

The Public Relations Officer of WIC, Basil Onwukwe, made this known in a release made available to The Guardian.

He, however, urged voters to ensure every vote is counted in Saturday’s governorship and state Assembly elections, insisting that voters should note the serial number of their polling units’ Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS).

Onwukwe added: “We call on the International Community to support forensic analysis of Independent National Electoral
Commission (INEC) servers and BVAS to extract each polling unit result to save Nigeria from looming disaster.”

MEANWHILE, WIC stressed that it stands in unity with all patriotic Igbo indigenes’ determination to rescue Nigeria from detractors, who have held the nation down.

The statement added: “Contestants with conflicting interests and personal agendas must be rejected. It is time to keep the pressure on political oligarchy, which are working against our interest and survival of our country. You must vote against leaders, who are compromised and working for their political godfathers and patronage against the aspiration of Igbo people; use the election to show the world where you stand.”

WIC, therefore, called on Igbo and Nigerians, in general, to come out, vote and protect their vote, saying: “We accept any opportunity that enables our case, actualises our goal, and saves the lives of Nigerians. Our struggle cannot be allowed to be hijacked to scuttle the central mission of our freedom. The soul of our existence is being threatened, we are under siege and this is the time to hold the bull by its horn; we cannot afford to deny our people representation, otherwise, we may suffer the fate of the hunter that chased the tiger with a stick.”
