Women have called for creation of free zones for female politicians with 35 per cent affirmative action.

They made the demand during a webinar to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD), saying the free zone will enable women to contest among themselves for elective positions and not with the male gender.

Country President, UN.POLAC, Prof. Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies, who spoke on:‘Role of Female/Women in Politics’, urged females to join politics, improve their knowledge of information technology and up their political games.

Principal Assistant Registrar, University of Port Harcourt, Mrs. Blessing Obi-Uzu, who spoke on Equity and Equality, and Prof. Ijeoma Ernest-Ehibudu maintained that women are dynamic beings and should take advantage of technology to enhance their innate abilities.

Earlier, the convener of the webinar and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Hope Aglow Charity Foundation, Dr. Cynthia Obiorah, spoke on Guidance, Motivation, and Mentorship of Girls and women in Career.

She noted that every society needs to equip the female gender in digital and technology-driven age, stressing that gender equity should be the core of any society.

She urged women to emulate girls and women, who have made their mark in various sectors.
