Woods confirms for British, US Opens
Tiger Woods confirmed Wednesday he plans to play in the US Open and British Open this year as he attempts to build on a top-20 finish at the Masters.
The former world number one, who did not qualify for this week’s World Golf Championships Match Play in San Francisco, outlined details of his tournament schedule on Twitter.
“Going to be a busy summer,” Woods wrote. “See you at the US Open, Open Champ, Memorial, Greenbrier and my Foundation’s event, the Quicken Loans National.”
His post made no mention of August’s PGA Championship at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin.
Woods returned to golf at Augusta this week following a lengthy self-imposed break, finishing tied for 17th.
The 14-time major champion had already confirmed plans to play in the Players Championship next month.
