Work Begins On Ekiti Airport
The Ekiti State Government, yesterday, began works on construction of the multi-billion naira Airport with the clearing of 4000 hectares of land for its effective take off.
The airport project was approved by the late Umaru Musa Yar’Adua administration in 2009 but previous administrations did not see the economic viability of the project.
However, Governor Ayodele Fayose, who believes the state should not miss the opportunity of owning an airport, had promised to complete the project before the end of next year.
Meanwhile, the State Government yesterday began the screening of over 2,000 applicants that applied for various positions with the Health Management Board for the recruitment of 100 health personnel into consequential vacancies in the State Ministry of Health.
