China-Nigeria trade partnership expands through CCE
China and Nigeria have taken a major step to strengthen their long-standing relationship by elevating ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership, signaling a new chapter in bilateral cooperation.
The announcement came at the 2024 Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), where both nations agreed to deepen economic collaboration.
The upcoming China Commodities Expo-Nigeria (CCE) 2024, organised by Brightway International Exhibition and the Trade Development Bureau of China’s Ministry of Commerce, with support from the Chinese Consulate-General in Lagos and various Nigerian government bodies, is a key initiative in this partnership.
CCE, which would be held from Tuesday 5, to Friday 8 November at the Landmark Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, since its inception in 2007, has grown into a major platform for business collaboration between China and Nigeria.
Chief Representative Officer, Brightway International Exhibition, Muheez Ojulari, said that the expo has maintained the largest gathering of Chinese manufacturers in Nigeria and the West Africa region, with more than 250 Chinese manufacturers participating and over 5,000 professional buyers from Nigeria and neighboring countries.
CCE is a comprehensive exhibition supported by the Chinese, Nigerian governments and relevant departments, which has played an important role in deepening cooperation and development between the two countries.
The Exhibition will feature a wide range of product in the following sectors; Agricultural machinery and accessories, vehicles and accessories, building materials and hardware, power equipment, solar energy and photovoltaic products, beauty and personal care, textiles and apparel, food and condiments, and other industries.
It would also set up a face-to-face platform for enterprises from both countries that are interested in exploring international trade and investment cooperation in China-Africa market, and there will be a special promotion session for local, municipal delegations and enterprise representatives.
