Yemisi Wole-Akinleye celebrates 50 years of grace, service, impact

As she approaches her 50th birthday, Pastor Yemisi Wole-Akinleye has reflected on a life marked by divine grace, generational impact, and unwavering obedience to God’s call.

Fondly known for her dynamic voice in ministry, healthcare, and humanitarian work, Yemisi’s journey began in the heart of Lagos Island, where she was born and raised in a faith-filled Catholic home in Ijeshatedo, Surulere. From an early age, her life was steeped in spiritual structure, community warmth, and a deep love for God. Her father’s intentional influence, paired with a lively family environment, laid the foundation for the woman of strength and compassion she has become.

Yemisi once dreamed of becoming a diplomat. Today, she sees that dream fulfilled in an even greater sense—as an ambassador of Christ. Her passion for communication and culture, honed through years of studying broadcasters and mastering languages, evolved into powerful public speaking, cross-cultural ministry, and deep connection with people from all walks of life.

Though she always felt drawn to ministry, it wasn’t until she joined Christ Miracle Church Mission (CMCM) that she fully accepted the divine call. “I wanted to serve without a title,” she said “But God had more in mind.” Encouraged by her family and spiritual parents, she started Wakati Isegun (Hour of Victory)—a weekly global online prayer experience that has impacted thousands around the world.

Beyond the pulpit, her compassion led her into the medical field. After a personal family emergency, Yemisi, then a mother of three, returned to school for a nursing degree—with full support and financial backing from her husband. She pursued this degree abroad, balancing family and academic demands with resilience and faith. “People would say I had a healing aura,” she reflected. “I prayed, and God confirmed nursing was part of my calling.”

Today, she blends her medical expertise with spiritual insight, affirming that “we may cure, but only God heals.”

In addition to her ministry and healthcare work, Yemisi is the founder of VJA Foundation, a humanitarian platform inspired by her parents and in-laws. The foundation’s motto, “Divinity Meets Humanity,” embodies her life’s mission: to serve others in tangible, transformative ways.

As she counts down to her 50th birthday, Pastor Yemisi Wole-Akinleye is not only celebrating a milestone but acknowledging a legacy still in motion. “I am a product of tremendous help—both divine and human. And I’m just getting started.”
