Yobe earmarks N1.3 billion for projects, compensation




The Yobe State Executive Council (SEC) has earmarked N1.3 billion for the completion of capital projects and compensations on acquired land for the building of a military barracks in Damaturu, the state capital.

The council has also approved N556.3 million for the rehabilitation of solar streets lights along the main and rings roads of Damaturu metropolis.

The Commissioner of Information, Alhaji Aji Yerima Bularafa disclosed this while briefing journalists on the outcome of SEC meeting at the Government House.

He said the council has approved the accessing of N3.4 billion stabilisation fund from the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).

“The state executive council (SEC) has approved the procurement of 24 vehicles to members of the Yobe State House of Assembly at the total cost of N275 million. The deliveries of the Peugeot, Camry and Honda Accord vehicles; are to be made by Milestone Ventures firm.”

He added that for the furnishing of doctors’ and nurses’ quarters at the 200-bed Ultra-Modern Hospital, Damaturu has been awarded to Green and Blue Limited at the cost of N76.9 million.
