Governor Ibrahim Dankwambo of Gombe said on Friday he felt elated by the decision of Dadiya Chiefdom and surrounding communities in Balanga Local Government area of Gombe State, to embrace peace.

The governor stated this when he visited the paramount ruler of Dadiya community, Alhaji Muhammadu Adamu, in Bambam town, headquarters of the chiefdom.

“In the recent past, there were communal clashes between the people of Dadiya and neighboring tribes.

“But to God be the Glory, there are peace and stability now, communal clashes have become a history now,” he said.

He advised the people of the chiefdom not to take laws into their hands, but to report matters of security threat to security personal.

The governor further called on the people of the chiefdom to desist from any act capable of tarnishing the image of the chiefdom.

The governor promised to complete projects he started in the state before embarking on new ones.

In his remarks, the paramount ruler, Adamu, appealed to the governor to appoint additional District Heads in his chiefdom.

He said that there were only four District Heads in the entire chiefdom, hence the need for more.

Adamu said the governor’s victory at the Tribunal and Supreme Court affirmed that he was the choice of the people.
