Zacuten seeks probe, alleges $13.07m cross-border transaction fraud

Zacuten Technologies has called for scrutiny of a disputed $13.07 million cross-border transaction involving Plaude Technologies Limited, Plaude Inc. and Crossbeam Financial Services Limited, alleging that more than $4 million remains unpaid.

The company’s claim follows Plaude’s rejection of what it described as misleading and inaccurate allegations surrounding the transaction.

According to Zacuten, about $8.95 million of the $13.07 million transaction has been transferred, leaving an outstanding balance of between $4.1 million and $4.2 million.

Zacuten said the unresolved balance had raised concerns about the financial capacity, representations and conduct of Plaude and individuals associated with the companies.

The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Godsreal Ojinaka, alleged that Plaude CEO, Olatomiwa Adebayo Idowu, had become difficult to reach despite repeated efforts to resolve the matter.

“This is not a misunderstanding and it is not a media dispute. Zacuten entered into a transaction worth more than $13 million. Millions of dollars remain outstanding. We have asked for answers, documentation and a timeline for payment,” Ojinaka said.

He added, “The fundamental question remains: where is Zacuten’s money, and when will it be paid?”

Plaude, however, has attributed the incomplete settlement to banking restrictions, enhanced due diligence, payment-corridor difficulties and other operational challenges.

Zacuten further alleged that a Banc of California cashier’s cheque, numbered 1874649 and dated March 6, 2026, for $2.78 million and payable to Plaude Inc., was presented as evidence of available funds.

The company said subsequent efforts to verify the instrument raised questions about its legitimacy, adding that the cheque and related circumstances were being reviewed for possible submission to relevant legal, financial and regulatory authorities.

Zacuten also referred to a separate complaint filed by Prudent Energy & Services Limited against Plaude Inc. in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California over an alleged $2.75 million foreign-exchange fraud.

It stressed that the allegations in that case had not been established as findings of liability and remained subject to legal proceedings.

The company also cited a May 11, 2026 statement by the Special Fraud Unit announcing that it had secured a Federal High Court forfeiture order over accounts and assets linked to Plaude Technologies Limited, Omberra Commodities Limited and individuals under investigation.

According to the SFU, the investigation involved allegations concerning approximately ₦8.585 billion, including conspiracy, fraudulent conversion, obtaining money by false pretence, stealing and money laundering.

The agency also reportedly raised concerns about Plaude Technologies’ operational and financial capacity to fulfil certain obligations and representations allegedly made to investors and business partners.

Zacuten said it was aware of additional claims involving losses or unresolved obligations of more than $15 million involving other businesses and counterparties, separate from its own claim.

It cautioned, however, that the information was still being verified and that it would not disclose the identities of other affected parties without sufficient documentary evidence and authorisation.

Ojinaka said the company would continue documenting its experience and providing relevant information to the appropriate authorities.
