Zamfara First Lady commends launch of Nutrition 774 program.
Zamfara State Governor’s wife, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda Lawal, has expressed delight in joining her husband, Governor Lawal, at the official launch of the Nutrition 774 Programme in the state.
The initiative was introduced to the Zamfara State government by the Hon. Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Abdulmalik Gajam, in collaboration with Mrs. Uju Rochas Anwukah, the Special Adviser to the Vice President on Public Health and Food Security.
This was contained in a statement issued by the press secretary to the Governor’s wife, Comrade Rabi Yusuf, and made available to newsmen in Gusau, the State capital.
According to the statement, Her Excellency noted that the governor’s remarks at the event deeply resonated with her, particularly his assertion that “we cannot build the Zamfara of our dreams, if the challenge of poor nutrition persists”
She explained that the Nutrition 774 Programme, which aims to promote access to nutritious food across all 774 local government areas in Nigeria, demonstrates the Zamfara State Government’s strong commitment to ending malnutrition and hunger among its people.
The First Lady reaffirmed her office’s commitment to supporting the programme through ongoing food distribution and agricultural empowerment initiatives for women, efforts that continue to reach vulnerable families across the 14 local government areas of the State.
She emphasised her dedication to ensuring that women and children have access to the nutritious food they need for healthy growth and development.
The governor’s wife further described the initiative as a major step toward lasting change, adding that, “God willing, we will continue to work hand in hand with our partners to build a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous Zamfara State.”
