Zamfara police rescue kidnapped corps member

The Zamfara State Police Command has rescued Ngozi Dabiri, a 23-year-old Youth Corps member from Delta State, serving in the Federal Capital, Abuja, after being abducted by suspected kidnappers.

Already, the Command has arrested a three-man gang of armed robbers/kidnappers in connection with Ngozi’s abduction.

Parading the suspects, yesterday, at the command headquarters in Gusau, the State Police Commissioner, Mr. Adajo Adeji Gabriel, said Ngozi was kidnapped in Abuja, while returning from the gym in her Toyota SUV, along Holy trinity church, Maitama, Abuja.

According to him, a total of N7, 343, 660.00 was recovered from the kidnappers, as part of the ransom received from Ngozi’s relatives. He said all the suspects have confessed to the crime, as well as mentioned other members of the gang now at large to include, one Alhaji Usman Argungu and his brother Danladi Argungu. Also under investigation are Hussaini Abdullahi and Musa Abdullahi of Tudun Wada area, Zaria, Kaduna State, who were among drivers conveying the suspects at the time of the arrest.

Meanwhile, the police in Nasarawa said two Chinese, attached to West African Polaris Investment, have been kidnapped in Agada village, Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state.

Police Public Relations Officer, Ismail Noman told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Saturday in Lafia that XJieng AI Jung, 50 and Wenso Ping 45, were ambushed by unknown gunmen at about 2.28p.m on their way to Abuja.

He said though the gunmen, wielding sophisticated weapons, were still at large, the police had begun investigation to track them.
