Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has reaffirmed his commitment to making more sacrifices to ensure a lasting peace in the state.

He made the pledge on Friday, in Maiduguri, while felicitating Muslims during the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.

The governor vowed to intensify efforts to strengthen security in all the resettled local councils of the state.

While emphasising the significance of collaboration against terrorism and kidnapping, Zulum said: “The state government will maintain close contacts with the Federal Government, Nigerian Armed Forces, and other security agencies to achieve sustainable peace in the state.”

Earlier, his Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, in a Sallah message, stated: “The governor urged citizens of the state to use the festive period to pray for  troops in the front lines, including Civilian JTF and  hunters  that continue to sacrifice their lives in restoring stability in the Northeast.”
“Let us imbibe the virtues of patience, charity, and obedience to the Almighty Allah, as exemplified by Prophet Abraham. We must also keep our gallant troops and volunteer forces in prayers, as their supreme sacrifices have enabled us to live in peace.”
