NIQS is the Nigerian Institute o Quantity Surveyors. The failure of the express road is as a result of improper planning and adherence to land use control. Allowing traffic and pedestrian attractions such as the church camps and developments at the adjoining Villages close near the right of way is a mess. Direct access to an expressway without going through exits, ramps and interchanges is the problem. The correction should require the interchanges, service lanes at the already built up areas with demarcations that will block pedestrians from accessing the expressways as well as creating and minimizing the number of pedestrian crossings at such locations. Pedestrian crossings generates the creation of bustops. Such bustops must not be allowed on expressways as they are being seen at Mowe, Ibafo and Redeem areas. The expressway should be controlled now to avoid any exposure of pedestrians that are generated by sprawl of developments. These will enhance mobility and accessibility to different land use.
