Poor BRT service at CMS
SIR: I am a regular user of the BRT system of transport. The inception of this mode of transportation was designed to ease the burden of the masses in Lagos State. However, the BRT has not readily satisfied its customers. I ply the CMS to Costain route every day and little or no attention is being given to the CMS bus stop. Whenever I close from work at 5p,m, I meet a very long queue at the CMS that even spills into the service lane. Almost always, only one bus is loading the long queue of passengers.
The annoying thing is that buses that are either half empty or still have enough space for passengers just pass the bus stop without stopping to pick passengers. Worse still, even when the bus managers flag them down they refuse to stop and if the bus managers insist the drivers stop, this often leads to unpleasant exchange of words between them.
The authorities in charge of the BRT should call their operators to order as well as instill some discipline into the staff at all levels because the public is being poorly served despite the good intentions of the Raji Fashola administration. Besides, the image of the company and by extension the state government is being dented by the apparent lack of coordination and disrespect for superior officers.
