Modern executives cannot afford to just focus on driving their organisations forward, and responsible “corporate governance” is no longer a word organisation throw around for the good PR. In fact, it may be imperative to make effective governance the lifeblood of your organisation to stay competitive as we move into the future. It is in light of this that These Executive Minds (TEXEM) constantly partners with top Universities such as Oxford to provide Africa’s leaders with the knowledge, tools and strategies that they need to make their place on the world map and is offering senior executives an opportunity for personal growth this December!
As Nigeria’s growth momentum slows and new global challenges and opportunities emerge, executives in the public and private sectors need to increase their personal capacity to address governance issues and enhance their organisation’s performance for financial and social goals. Furthermore, with the challenging regulatory landscape, drop in the price of oil and heightened reputational risk, now is the time for senior executives to raise their game while leading in turbulent times.

It is in light of this that University of Oxford Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment has partnered with TEXEM to deliver a four-day executive development programme tailored for African senior executives and delivered by experts in the field of Leadership, Governance and sustainability at one of the world’s most renowned seats of learning. This programme on Effective Governance is an executive development programme that will combine leisure with business. While day lectures and discussions will focus on acquiring expertise related to issues of governance, leadership, sustainability and enterprise, there will also be opportunities for a working visit to Oracle Headquarters, UK, a trip to Blenheim palace (birth place of Winston Churchill) more informal discussion and networking during the evening presentations.

Texem’s upcoming course at the world leading University of Oxford focuses on effective governance through leadership development. Through this programme, executives will have the opportunity to challenge assumptions, receive tailored insights which addresses the challenges of leading in Africa’s unique political and financial landscape, from world experts in the field. This programme is designed to suit senior Executives from both the private and public sector, across a range of industries including: the financial sector, Telecomms, FMCG, Real Estate, Corporate Services and the Oil and Gas industry.

The course will focus on the following areas of effective governance:

 Results-driven Change Management

 Leadership Through Responsible Decision-Making

 Reputational Risk Management

 How to Enhance Board Performance

 Superior Value Creation

Dr Alim Abubakre, CEO, TEXEM says that “upon completion of this programme participants will enhance their capacity to make better decisions, manage risks better and help their organisation to achieve superior performance. This course will shed light on solutions to some of the crucial governance issues facing executives in Africa and provide actionable insights on how to navigate the ever-changing political and regulatory landscape, to steer organisations into a successful future”.

The course will be held between the 7th – 10th of December at the Smith school of Enterprise, University of Oxford. For more information, please visit http://texem.co.uk/programmes/corporate-responsibility-for-effective-governance.html
