The Cross River State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rt. Hon. Christopher Etta, has expressed confidence that the ruling party will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections, citing ongoing preparations and a renewed campaign strategy.
Etta spoke yesterday at the party’s state secretariat in Calabar while receiving members of the Cross River State Political Network (CRISPON), led by its Director General, Prince Michael Abuo, who paid him a courtesy visit.
The APC chairman said the party was already putting in place structures to consolidate support and secure the required votes across the state and beyond, stressing that no effort would be spared in achieving total victory.
According to him, while the party enjoys significant goodwill among Nigerians, there is a need to adopt a more effective grassroots mobilisation strategy to translate such support into electoral success.
He commended CRISPON for its mobilisation strength, noting that the group had demonstrated capacity in rallying support for the party at the grassroots level, particularly during recent political activities in parts of the state.
Etta observed that voter mobilisation remained a critical component of the electoral process, adding that the party was engaging stakeholders to design strategies that would enhance its outreach and voter turnout.
He urged party members and supporters to brace up for the challenges ahead, especially in the build-up to the presidential election, which he expressed optimism the APC would win.
Earlier, Abuo said the visit was to congratulate Etta on his emergence as state chairman and to reaffirm the group’s loyalty to the party leadership.
He highlighted CRISPON’s involvement in recent political activities, including mobilising residents across the 196 wards in the state to participate in the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise and obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
Abuo added that the group was also working towards endorsing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu for a second term in office, citing their leadership and performance.
