The Allied People’s Movement (APM) has unveiled what it described as a comprehensive governance blueprint aimed at reviving Nigeria’s economy, addressing the country’s worsening security challenges and improving the living conditions of citizens ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The party said the proposed blueprint, which will be formally unveiled at a later date, is designed to resuscitate the productive sector, rebuild critical infrastructure, stimulate economic growth and guarantee the security of lives and property across the country.
In a statement issued on Monday by its National Publicity Secretary, Hon. Abubakar Yusuf, the APM said the country required a new governance approach that prioritises the welfare of Nigerians, prudent management of public resources and accountability.
The party accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of governing the country without a coherent economic direction, alleging that its policies had worsened economic hardship, unemployment, inflation, insecurity and infrastructure deficits.
According to the APM, the country’s economic and security situation has deteriorated significantly in recent years, with rising poverty, unemployment and the continued exodus of skilled professionals seeking better opportunities abroad.
The opposition party further alleged that increasing public debt, high taxation, inflation and insecurity had contributed to the exit of several multinational companies from Nigeria, while millions of young Nigerians had emigrated in search of improved economic prospects.
Expressing concern over what it described as the nation’s worsening socio-economic conditions, the party maintained that Nigerians deserved a better deal and a leadership committed to inclusive development, industrialisation and sustainable prosperity.
The APM said its proposed governance agenda would focus on strategic investments in critical sectors, including oil and gas, power, agriculture, manufacturing, education, housing and healthcare, with the objective of creating jobs, attracting foreign direct investment and boosting private sector productivity.
It added that the blueprint also contains measures to strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture, combat terrorism and criminality, promote transparency in governance and enforce stricter accountability in the management of public resources.
The party said it would pursue people-oriented policies anchored on social justice, respect for the rule of law, freedom of expression and efficient public service if elected into office.
While expressing confidence in its prospects ahead of the 2027 general elections, the APM said it remained committed to providing Nigerians with what it described as a credible alternative platform capable of restoring economic stability, improving governance and rebuilding public confidence in government.
The party assured Nigerians that the full details of its governance blueprint would be unveiled at the appropriate time as it intensifies preparations for the 2027 elections.
