APC dissolves Enugu executive, clears two for Ekiti guber primary

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved the Enugu State Executive Committee and approved a seven-member Caretaker Committee to manage the party’s affairs in the state.

The decision was announced following the 179th meeting of the NWC held at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja on Thursday.

The meeting was chaired by the APC National Chairman, Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda.

According to a statement signed by Deputy National Publicity Secretary, Durosinmi Meseko, the dissolution followed a “comprehensive review of the state of the party in Enugu.”

A seven-member Caretaker Committee has been constituted and is scheduled to be inaugurated on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the party’s national headquarters.

The members are:

1. Dr. Ben Nwoye – Chairman
2. H.E. Mrs. Fidelia Njoeze Member
3. Member Comrade Peter Chime
4. Dr. (Mrs.) Oby Ajih – Member
5. Dr. Chiedozie Nwafor – Member
6. Engr. Emma Ekeh Member
7. Rt. Hon. Eugene Odoh – Secretary

The NWC also reviewed the report of the screening exercise for aspirants in the upcoming APC governorship primary election in Ekiti State.

Two aspirants, incumbent Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji and Mrs. Atinuke Oluremi Omolayo, were cleared to participate in the primaries.

However, two others, Engr. Ojo Kayode and Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, were disqualified.

NWC also revealed that the APC National Reconciliation Committee, led by former Interim Chairman Chief Bisi Akande, will be inaugurated at a date to be announced soon.
