Says gov greatest asset to Tinubu

A chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Rivers and the Commissioner for Environment, Tambari Sydney Gbara, has revealed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) and other political parties are wooing Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the Simplified Movement, following the ongoing political crisis, especially within the PDP.

Gbara said that the  intensified lobbying is sequel to Fubara’s  leadership qualities, which has garnered massive organic support from the people, claiming that the governor is a ‘big asset’ in the political sector at the moment.

The PDP stalwart, who served as the State PDP Publicity Secretary,  affirmed that Fubara remains the biggest asset to President Bola Tinubu, describing the likes of the Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, and his cronies as ‘lost drillers’.

He stated this, yesterday, in Port Harcourt, while reacting to some  political developments in the state. According to the ex-PDP spokesman,  Fubara has been able to capture his state as a sitting governor; hence,  the need for the President to work closely with him and enjoy the support.

Gbara said: “Fubara is the biggest asset that Tinubu has in the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF). He is getting more popular by the day and earning organic support due to  his leadership style and  humanitarian services  to the  people.

“Wike’s supporters are moving over to the Simplified Movement, because they have compared  the leadership styles of the FCT Minister and the governor and realised that Fubara’s approach is solving people’s problems and making impacts.”

“During the ongoing protest, Fubara drove through a crowd of protesters and the masses hailed and cheered him, but  his predecessor, Wike, cannot get such support in the  state or drive through protesters.”

The commissioner described the recent visit  by  the 2023 State Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate, Beatrice Itubo, to Wike as a non issue  that should not call for attention.

He said: “Itubo’s visit to Wike doesn’t do anything because the LP supporters in  the state  are in sync with the governor and are working with us; so, the visit is neither here nor there. It has not affected the support of LP members to the governor.”

Gbara urged  the  National Working Committee of the PDP  to hand  over the structure of the party to the governor, threatening that the members of the Simplified Movement will seek fortune  in another platform.
