Daniel Bwala mocks ADC, calls opposition Association of Desperate Congregation

Special adviser to president Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel H. Bwala

Presidential aide, Daniel Bwala, has mocked the African Democratic Congress (ADC), calling the opposition the Association of Desperate Congregation.

Bwala made mockery of the ADC on Friday via a post he shared on his official X account, with the opposition party currently embroiled in a leadership tussle.

“I said this six months ago and if you want to know why the ADC is more confused than the mad man that used to advise Gregory (referring to Peter Obi), here are the facts; A party where everybody wants to be president (selfish) cannot build a virile opposition,” he said.

“A party built on hostile take-over cannot survive the storm, a party where the members have double standards that they apply to people cannot see road, a party where the presidential aspirants have changed political parties like chameleon cannot have ideology.

“A party where their leaders see Nigerians as a means to an end cannot coordinate and party where their leaders’ desperation is a do or die affair cannot govern Nigerians.

“Finally, have you not noticed that they are more confused now than they were when their journey started? I said it before, “give them six months and they would come crashing”; it is evident before our very eyes. Say no to association of desperate congregation (ADC).”

Meanwhile, with just about a month before the deadline for submission of membership registers and conduct of primaries by political parties participating in the 2027 elections, the leadership crisis in the coalition-backed ADC has further deepened as a new bloc emerged to contest the party’s leadership.

The new faction, comprising state chairmen of the party and led by its 2023 presidential candidate, Dumebi Kachikwu, has announced plans to convene a national convention and constitute an interim leadership to manage the party’s affairs.

The group also declared their full support for the Independent National Electoral Commission’s (INEC) decision to delist the David Mark-led leadership, stressing that the party is one and does not recognise any other faction.

As a result, the forum on Tuesday appointed a nine-man caretaker committee to manage the affairs of the party pending resolution of all legal tussles.

Addressing the media on behalf of the party yesterday, the Abia State Chairman, Don Norman Obinna, said the emergency National Executive Committee (NEC) became necessary to rescue the party from the hands of impostors and set it on the right track pending a proper convention.

The party accused the former National chairman of ADC, Ralph Nwosu, of illegally handing over the party to Senator David Mark and Rauf Aregbesola, just as it claimed that Nafiu Bala never legitimately held the position of Vice chairman of the ADC.
