General Evangelist, Christ Apostolic Church in Nigeria and Overseas, Hezekiah Oladeji, yesterday, in Abuja, urged Nigerians, especially the youths to defray from being used in the 2023 general elections.

Oladeji, who spoke at a press conference ahead of the church’s National Praise programme, said there must be an end to bloodshed and money politics, stressing that there is urgent need to improve voters’ education in the country.

He said money would fail and give way to politicians, who have the technical and educational requirements needed to alleviate the suffering of the country.

“Our people are getting deceived easily by money. That will not last. We must not mortgage our future in the coming elections because our challenges will only multiply if we fail to do it right,” Oladeji said.

According to him, the true children of God cannot be cheated, adding that the youths must wake up to their rights. Oladeji said about 3,000 renowned gospel music stars, trumpeters and clerics would be praising God with the expectations of a better Nigeria.

He said the Abuja National Praise is a CAC programme based on the instruction of God, adding that when guns have failed, when fear and unrest prevail, when economic hardship pervades the nation, the praise programme, according to the Lord, would provide succour.

Expected to take place at the National Stadium in Abuja, the programme is aimed at a New Nigeria, Oladeji said.

The General Evangelist insisted that the praise programme is an instruction from God and would take place in Abuja, Lagos, and Olode and Ikeji in Osun state.

Oladeji added: “God said Abuja first, and it has to do with a New Nigeria God is bringing.” Nigerian gospel singer, songwriter, saxophonist, televangelist and Director of Music at the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Kunle Ajayi; renowned gospel singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and producer, Dusin Oyekan; Adeyinka Alaseyori and Peterson Okopi are some of the guest ministers expected at the programme.

Slated to commence by 4pm this Friday, September 16 (today), the programme is tagged “Praise the Lord; for His Mercy Endureth Forever.”

Oladeji added that the programme would create a reflection of gratitude over all God has done all around Nigeria, especially all the issues the country have had. Oladeji said Nigeria is a beloved nation, which would be visited by the mercy of God after the event.
