A former governor of Edo State and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday decried the prohibition on the use of public schools for campaigns by Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki

Oshiomhole said this in Uromi, Headquarters of Esan North East Local government area of Edo state during the All Progressives Congress (APC) ward-to-ward campaign.

He said, “I built the schools during my tenure and wonder why my party should be denied use of the facilities for the campaign.”

Oshiomhole stated that Obaseki should know that he is only a caretaker who is holding brief for the Edo people.

According to him, “We will deny Obaseki using federal roads if he deprived us of using government schools again. Next time he stops us again, we’ll enter and use the facilities.

“Obaseki does not own the Police, or the army, is it his vigilante that carries Dane gun that he wants to use to deprive the use of facilities, we will use them henceforth Let them know that no one has a monopoly for violence.

He said the APC candidate ith the election Monday Okpebholo will join in the debate under the condition that would be held in Esan dialect and moderated by the Esan people because charity begins at home.

On his part, the Director General of APC Campaign, Matthew Urhoghide, appealed to the people to vote for APC on election day.

Urhoghide said both Edo North and South have all agreed with the Esan agenda, hence their choice of Senator Okpebholo as their candidate.

Okpebholo promised to create over 5000 jobs and declare a state of emergency on Roads, Education, Health, and Security in Edo State if elected to office.
