Edo: APC’s Okpebholo wins polling unit as PDP, LP gets one vote each
The Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, (PDP) Asue Ighodalo secured one vote at polling unit of his main rival, and candidate of the All Progressive Congress APC, senator Monday Okpebholo
Releasing the results at Unit 03, Ward 1, Uwessan, Esan central local government area of Edo State, Okpebholo got 102 votes, while Ighodalo got at least one vote, Olumide Apata of the Labour Party (LP) also got one vote.
Okpenholo, after voting had promised his supporters that the PDP will not get a single vote there.
“PDP or whatever will not get one vote here because this is my home and my people love me,” he had said. However though he has the highest number of votes, but his rival got at least one votes each.
Okpebholo also commended INEC, saying, “What I’m seeing here is like a testimony that INEC is getting it right.
“I know that everything they are saying about security – this, that – is ‘hyping’. I mean nothing is happening. You can see! Nobody is fighting. No knockout, no stick of matches. So it is just for people to scare people away from voting.

“You know Obaseki wanted to cause fire in Edo state but by the grace of God everything is moving perfectly.”
While APC’s candidate won his polling unit, earlier today, the PDP candidate also did the same at his unit.
According to the result declared at the polling unit, Ighodalo polled 104 votes to defeat Monday Okpebholo of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who secured 34 votes while Olumide Akpata of Labour Party came a distant third with four votes.
After casting his ballot earlier on Saturday, he also boasted that he would win the governorship election by landslide.
“We will win this election by landslide and move our state forward by God’s grace. If there is anybody at home, please come out and cast your vote. We are not comfortable with the little shenanigans that is going on particularly from the APC guys. This is a single state election and INEC has all the time to prepare, so there was no need for the delay.”
