Group urges Governor Ayade to seek re-election in 2019

Cross River State governor, Senator Ben Ayade
A political group, ‘The Voice of Cross River Central’ has called on Gov. Ben Ayade of Cross River to seek re-election in 2019 in view of his laudable projects in the state.
The Director-General of the group, Mr Victor Bassey, made this call on Monday at a general meeting of the group held in Ikom Local Government Area of Cross River.
Bassey said that the call became necessary, following the governor’s laudable projects such as: regular payment of salaries to civil servants and appointment of youths into various political offices.
He explained that Cross River needed a visionary leader as Ayade to continue to expand the scope of governance by reaching out to residents of the state with his laudable policies and projects.
“The Voice of Cross River Central is supporting Ayade not because of his vast experience as a former Senator, but because of his commitment and the need to complete the present administration’s ongoing projects.
“Today, the garment factory has been completed and inaugurated. This project alone has employed more than 2,000 Cross River indigenes, majority of whom are women and widows.
“The rice mill and power plant projects are nearing completion while work is ongoing in the Calabar Pharmaceutical Company and various rural road projects across the state.
“We want to use this opportunity to invite all the sons and daughters of Cross River Central Senatorial District to join us in a rally in support of the Ayade 2019 bid on Dec. 2,’’ he said.
Another member of the group, Mr Simon Obi, lauded the governor for the distribution of patrol vehicles to security agents in the state.
Obi urged PDP members from the Northern and Southern Senatorial Districts to support Ayade in 2019.
