Gunmen kill APC chieftain in Kebbi
Suspected gunmen kidnapped and killed the All Progressives Congress (APC) Chairman of Suru Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Bako Bala, on Wednesday.
According to a post on the official Facebook page of the Special Adviser to the Kebbi State governor on Television and Radio, Zaidu Bala, the armed men abducted him in his hometown, where they shot him and left him in a pool of his blood.
Bala noted that the APC Suru Local Government chairman was rushed to the Federal Medical Centre in Birnin Kebbi, but unfortunately succumbed to his wounds on Wednesday.
In a related incident, bandits reportedly invaded Matseri village in the Bunza Local Government Area of the state, kidnapping one person.
Kebbi State is among the North West states in Nigeria currently grappling with insecurity, particularly due to banditry.
