The lawmaker representing Ezza North/Ishielu federal constituency, Joseph Nwobasi, has disclosed that he belongs neither to the Edozie Njoku and Eze Okenwa-led factions of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The lawmaker, who disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Abakaliki, said he can only offer advice if the warring factions consult him adding since the matter is in court he has to play neutral.
“Today, you will hear this one and tomorrow you will hear another thing. The same thing that is affecting the nation is also playing out in the state. In the state, there are two parallel chairmen. One loyal to Njoku and the other one to Okenwa,” he said.
“For me, I will take the party because they gave me the ticket. I think the party executive should know how to handle it. I am not part of their issue. If there is any way I could offer advice, I will do that. I have no hands with the struggling or issues they are having.”
He disclosed that he is motivated to empower his constituents, because they voted for him as their representative in the green chambers, even as he stated that he has the highest-paid number of appointees as aides among federal lawmakers from Ebonyi State.
According to him, he has been motivated to ensure that he attracts social amenities and to make good laws that will better their lives as citizens of this country.
He said, “My stay in the national assembly for over one year now, we are new here, we are first timers. I have been able to move two motions and sponsor one bill for now. Coming to social amenities, I have attracted solar streetlights.

“I am motivated to do all these things because we are in a democracy. And democracy they say is government of the people, by the people, and for the people. For me, who am I? But my people during the election were there for me.”
