The Mandate Movement, a pro-democracy group, has commended President Tinubu for his unwavering commitment to democracy and his vigorous efforts in rebuilding Nigeria. Celebrating its 25th anniversary at the Police Ground in Ikeja, Lagos, the group highlighted Tinubu’s pivotal contributions and the significant progress made in the past year under his leadership.

“The June 12th anniversary should remind us of the beauty of democracy,” stated Enilolobo.

“We may not have achieved all that we wanted, but the truth is that we are not moving backwards.” He emphasised the slow but steady progress of democracy, drawing parallels with the historical struggles for democracy in countries like the United Kingdom and the United States.

Enilolobo also lauded President Tinubu’s pivotal role in championing democracy, praising his unwavering dedication and sacrifices during the nation’s darkest times. He hailed Tinubu as a beacon of hope and a symbol of Nigeria’s enduring spirit.

Reflecting on the past year under Tinubu’s leadership, Enilolobo highlighted key achievements across various sectors. Notable milestones included the introduction of student loans, infrastructure projects like the Lagos-Calabar Highway, and efforts to enhance transparency in the Central Bank.

“The strides made by President Tinubu’s administration are testament to our collective determination to build a better Nigeria,” Enilolobo affirmed.

He commended the administration’s proactive measures in combating oil theft and revitalising the oil sector, signalling a new era of stability and progress.

His words: “This year alone, over N5 billion worth of crude oil has been recovered from oil thieves while no fewer than 89 illegal refinery sites have been discovered. Suspects have been arrested. In the past few months, your efforts have helped the country to recover stolen crude worth over $1 billion, representing a significant input into the Nigerian economy. Very soon, the Port Harcourt and Warri refineries will be fully operational. These are landmarks that stand out President Tinubu as the best President Nigeria ever had since 1999, judging from the first one-year anniversary of the regime.”

As the Mandate Movement celebrated its 25th anniversary, Enilolobo reiterated its commitment to democracy and national unity. He announced plans to expand the movement’s presence nationwide, emphasizing its role in safeguarding President Tinubu’s mandate and promoting democratic ideals.

In closing, Enilolobo urged members of The Mandate Movement to remain steadfast in their commitment to Nigeria’s progress. He emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity in overcoming challenges and realizing the nation’s full potential.
