The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Lagos State has dismissed reports alleging that its State Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, directed all Supervisory Leadership Groups (SLGs) and supervisors to report to the party secretariat following purported instructions from the Presidential Villa.

In a statement by its spokesperson, Mogaji Seye Oladejo, on Wednesday, the party described the claim as false, misleading and deliberately crafted to stir unnecessary tension within its ranks and among the public.

The party clarified that no such directive was issued by the State Chairman and that no emergency meeting had been scheduled as speculated in the reports.

It reaffirmed that it remains disciplined, transparent and law-abiding, operating strictly in line with due process and collective decision-making.

According to the statement, the party’s priority at this time is to consolidate its structures and intensify preparations ahead of the forthcoming national elections.

The leadership stressed its commitment to strengthening internal processes and mobilising members across the state to secure victory at the polls.

The party further urged members, supporters and the general public to disregard unverified information capable of overheating the polity, assuring that official communications would continue to be disseminated through recognised channels.

He said: “At no time did the State Chairman issue any such directive, nor is there any emergency meeting scheduled as being speculated. The Lagos APC remains a disciplined, transparent, and law-abiding political party, guided strictly by due process and collective decision-making.

“Our primary focus at this critical time remains putting every necessary structure in place as we count down to the forthcoming national elections. We are fully committed to strengthening our internal processes and mobilizing effectively to ensure continued progress and victory at the polls.

“We, therefore, advise party members, supporters, and the general public to desist from spreading or entertaining rumors capable of needlessly heating up the polity. The party will continue to keep the public informed of any official updates through our usual and recognised communication channels.”
