Lagos SDP elects new executive members
.Award-winning sports journalist makes list
Adeyinka Dabiraoluwa has been elected as Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Lagos state.
The Congress was held over the weekend at the Excellence Hotel, Ogba, and was supervised by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Dabiraoluwa emerged as chairman of the party in the state while Taqwallahi Ishmael and Mayowa Akinbode will serve as Deputy Chairman and General Secretary respectively.
Other elected officers were Susan Lawanson (Treasurer), Kolade Adepoju (Youth Speaker), Tolulope Osundolire (Woman Speaker), Nelson Fadeni (Legal Adviser), and Ibeh Kamsi (Organising Secretary)
The rest include Dr. Adeniran Adefemi (Labour and Civil Society), Tajudeen Omobolanle (Financial Secretary), Isah Samuel (Assistant Financial Secretary), Chioma Ojibah (Auditor), amongst others.
Meanwhile, multiple-award-winning sports journalist Shina Oludare will serve as the party’s Publicity Secretary.
“This is a call to serve and I promise to give it my all so we ensure our set goals are accomplished,” seasoned media personality Oludare told the media.
“I want to say a big thanks to the members of SDP, Lagos State Chapter for their trust in me. This is a strong indication that they believe in youth and that accentuates the fact that there is hope again.
“I will enjoin my fellow youth to key into SDP’s work of remaking Nigeria great again – block by block, brick by brick. For this is the true genius of this great nation.”
In her acceptance speech after the election, Dabiraoluwa thanked party leaders for the confidence reposed in her and other members of executive, and assured that they will work assiduously with others across the country to claim power at the centre.
Among the notable SDP stalwarts at the congress were National Legal Adviser of the party, Joseph Achile Abu, immediate past chairman of the party in Lagos, Olaniyi Femi Ferrari, alongside chairpersons of local councils and party supporters.
