Insists on united Nigeria

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), John Odigie-Oyegun has urged Nigerians to be patient with President Muhammadu Buhari. He spoke at the weekend at an event by the Inner Circle of Friends, University of Italian to honour him.

He explained that the Federal Government had put appropriate measures in put to address the current hardship in the country. Odigie-Oyegun who blamed retrogressive elements for the spate of hate speeches and separatist movements in the country, said the APC was committed to a united country.

According to him: “The hardship has caused pain and stress and there is a bit of hunger in the land. People are hungry and there is no question about that. But if you need to eat omelets, it is inevitable that you must break egg.

“My message to our people nationwide is to bear with us. The pride that you feel when you walk out and say you are a Nigerian, is much greater than the attempt to disintegrate us into tiny mini-republics. That will not happen.

The foundation of our country is being rocked deliberately. We promised a change, but quite frankly, the change that we promised has inevitably run against the kind of fight-back that we are having today.î

The Chairman of the occasion, Senator Jim Nwobodo, urged separatist movements in the country to bury their hatchet and keep the peace in the interest of the country.
