Founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, David Oyedepo, has urged Christians and other eligible Nigerians to actively participate in the democratic process by obtaining their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Speaking during yesterday’s service at Canaanland, Ota, Ogun State, the cleric stressed that citizens have a constitutional right and civic responsibility to influence governance through the ballot box.
Delivering a sermon titled ‘Breaking the Curses of Life’, Oyedepo encouraged members of the church to ensure they were registered voters and prepared to exercise their franchise when elections are held.
According to him, Christians should not remain detached from political developments in their countries but should make informed decisions based on their convictions when choosing leaders.
“We have a civic responsibility as responsible citizens of our various nations,” he told the congregation, noting that Living Faith Church has members across 144 countries.
The bishop said participation in elections was an important aspect of responsible citizenship, adding that believers have a legitimate role in determining who governs their nation.
“We are not passers-by in our nations. We are bona fide citizens of the nation, and we have a right to participate in who governs us,” he said.
Oyedepo urged worshippers to secure their voter cards, describing voting rights as a constitutional privilege that should not be neglected.
