Plateau State House of Assembly has directed the Plateau State Independent Electoral Commission (PLASIEC) to allow the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) participate in the October 9, 2021 local council election.

This is as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) fixed Saturday, August 14, 2021 for the by-election in Lere Federal Constituency of Kaduna State.

Moving the motion at plenary yesterday, Peter Gyendeng (Barkin Ladi) also contended that the cost of nomination forms for the Plateau council poll was outrageous at N1.2 million.

Chairman, INEC Voter Education, Festus Okoye, stated yesterday that the Kaduna by-election followed the death of Suleiman Lere on April 6, 2021.
