The National Youth Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has charged youths and students in the South West region to vote for Atiku Abubakar for transformation in the country’s education sector.

The mobilisation started at a town hall meeting in Lagos yesterday with the theme, ‘The Role of Youths and Students in 2023 Election’. PDP National Youth Leader/Director of Youth and Students Mobilisation, Mohammed Kadaade, urged students to massively vote for the presidential candidate of the party, asserting that he is the only person with a clear blueprint for the education sector, as well as interest of the youths.

Senior Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Students’ Union Affairs, Jerry Ehiwarior, urged youths to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) to elect credible leaders that will transform the education sector.

According to him, student leaders of the party have been moving round campuses to enlighten them not to be sentimental during the election, but vote for the team that has the magic wand to redeem the country.

President, National Youths-Student Movement and member of the PCC National Youth Campaign Council, Dr. Ayodele Elegbeleye, said following the high number of registered students for the election, PDP has been sensitising students on making the right decision on who becomes their next president and representatives at all levels of government.

Elegbeleye urged students to elect the PDP presidential candidate, “who has a clear-cut blueprint for students,” describing Atiku as an investor in the education sector, which is evident in the schools he established across the nation.

The Deputy Coordinator, National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), South West, John Alao, said the eight-month ASUU strike, which is yet to be resolved, is one of the major reasons students must go out to vote for credible leaders that have the good of the education sector at heart.

He urged students to avoid thuggery and exercise their civic rights for a better economy.
