RHGN targets 80% South-East votes for Tinubu in 2027, says Anyanwu

The National Convener and Facilitator of Renewed Hope for Greater Nigeria (RHGN), Hon. Calistus Anyanwu, has said the group is committed to securing over 80 percent of votes from the South-East electorate for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Anyanwu stated this in a release made available to newsmen following the official installation of former Senate President, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim, and a veteran politician in Imo State, Chief Longers Anyanwu, as the group’s National Grand Patron and Ambassador in Abuja.

The RHGN leader said the engagement of Anyim and Anyanwu was part of the group’s intensified mobilisation drive across ward-level structures and grassroots political organisations in the South-East, aimed at galvanising massive support for President Tinubu ahead of the forthcoming election.

He said the appointments of Senator Anyim and Chief Anyanwu reflect the group’s commitment to mounting a serious campaign for President Tinubu in the South-East, a region that also fields opposition presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi.

“Our target is to galvanise over 80 percent of votes for Mr President in the 2027 presidential election in the South-East. We are leaving no stone unturned and are battle-ready for the task. This is why we are bringing key political actors from the region on board for this mission, and we believe both Anyim and Anyanwu have what it takes to help us achieve this objective,” he said.

He further explained that Senator Anyim, a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation with decades of experience in national politics, commands cross-partisan respect across Ebonyi State and the wider Igbo political establishment. According to him, Anyim’s acceptance of the role represents a strategic alignment that lends RHGN credibility and political strength in the region.

On Chief Longers Anyanwu, he described him as a veteran politician with strong grassroots networks and cross-party connections in Imo State and beyond, noting that his inclusion would enhance community-level mobilisation and organisational structure.

“While Senator Anyim provides national stature and symbolic weight, Chief Longers Anyanwu brings grassroots political capital, local penetration, and organisational strength that translates into voter mobilisation,” he added.
Speaking on President Tinubu’s administration, Anyanwu said the initial economic difficulties associated with the reform agenda are gradually being addressed, insisting that the reforms are necessary, timely, and in the overall interest of Nigerians.

He added that public opinion across the country is beginning to shift in the President’s favour as citizens start to experience the impact of ongoing reforms.

Meanwhile, Senator Anyim, in his remarks, highlighted the Nigeria Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as a flagship policy that has expanded access to tertiary education for students from low-income families.
He expressed appreciation to RHGN for the appointment, stressing that his acceptance was not a political courtesy but a deliberate commitment to contribute to President Tinubu’s transformation agenda in the interest of national development.
