Tinubu has lost control of his govt, says Adebayo

The presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the 2023 general election, Adewole Adebayo, has taken a swipe at President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, stating that with the worsening security situation across the country, he has lost control of his government and failed in his duties.

In a statement yesterday, he said that Nigerians made a big mistake in electing Tinubu, stressing that the President has failed in all sectors.

Adebayo, while describing the Tinubu-led administration as rudderless, said that from all indications, the government had lost its map and just wakes up every day reacting to any new incident or umbrage, whether local or international.

“There is no rational observer who would say this is the trajectory of where the Presidency is heading to. President Tinubu has lost control of his own government, which he hasn’t had time to put together to start with. And however much you speak for the government, you cannot say that where they are now in 2025 was where they planned to be when they were planning a year ago or two years ago.”

Adebayo, however, disagreed with United States (U.S.) President Donald Trump over the characterisation of Nigeria as a disgraced country.

“I don’t agree with President Trump that we are a disgraced country,” he noted.
