Williams promises unity after winning ADC reps ticket in Anambra

ADC candidate for Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, Gini Williams

Business development consultant, Gini Chukwuma Williams, has pledged to promote unity, inclusive representation, and deliver the dividends of democracy after emerging as the African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Williams secured victory during the ADC House of Representatives primary election conducted across the 24 wards in Idemili North and South Local Government Areas of Anambra State on Thursday, May 21, 2026.
Announcing the results at Jaburg Hotel & Suites Hall, Awka, the Chairman of the Anambra State ADC Electoral Committee for the State House of Assembly and House of Representatives primaries, Emeka Okolo, said Williams polled 5,391 votes to defeat Nnamdi Ifebi, who scored 1,406 votes, and Nnamdi Okoye, who garnered 721 votes.

Williams had earlier emerged as the preferred choice among party leaders and members in the constituency, largely due to his grassroots mobilisation efforts and support for the party, including the donation of party offices across all 24 wards in Idemili North and South.
Results from the exercise showed that all 12 wards in Idemili North LGA delivered over 60 per cent of their votes in favour of Williams, while he also recorded convincing victories across the 12 wards in Idemili South.

In Idemili South, wards such as Akwukwu, Alor I, Alor II, Awka-Etiti I, Awka-Etiti II, Nnokwa, Oba I, Oba II, and Ojoto overwhelmingly supported the oil and gas consultant, reinforcing his growing political influence across the federal constituency.
The primary election witnessed a large turnout of party faithful, stakeholders, security operatives, and officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), with the process described as peaceful and orderly.

Reacting to the outcome, the Williams Campaign Organisation expressed appreciation to supporters, party leaders, youths, women groups, and stakeholders for their commitment and confidence in the candidate’s vision.
The organisation described the victory as a collective triumph for advocates of progress, unity, and development in Idemili North and South.

“Together, we have taken the first bold step toward building a new Idemili North and South. This victory belongs to the people, and we remain committed to sustaining the momentum toward the 2027 elections,” the statement said.
It added that Williams remains dedicated to fostering unity and driving meaningful development across the Idemili North and South Federal Constituency.
