Oyo to issue land titles in 60 days
Towards increasing its internal generated revenue, Oyo State Government has declared its plans to issue of Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) within 60 days, if landowners in the state submit proper documents.
State Commissioner for Lands, Housing and Urban Development, Isaac Omodewu, who disclosed this, said the era of delays in processing C of O was over.
Omodewu said government was disturbed by the endless waiting period and the patronage of agents by landowners who want to collect their C of Os.
He urged members of the public to desist from patronizing agents for any transaction, saying government is running an open door policy to facilitate the smooth process and issuance of C of Os for interested citizens.
The commissioner also called on operators of fuel stations that are yet to be approved to get proper approval at the ministry warning that illegal fuel station would be demolished.
Omodewu further stressed that the State Government is set to increase its internally generated revenue (IGR) through landed property, pointing out that the government has created a new Government Reserved Area (GRA) behind the High court, Ring Road.
