2019 Kien & Friends Classical Music Concert holds today at MUSON center

Kien & Friends, the yearly classical music concert that provides children the opportunity and stage to exhibit their musical skills will hold today at the Agip Recital Hall, MUSON Center, Onikan, Lagos.

The concert is a not-for-profit project held annually as music, especially classical music performances, help children’s brains to develop better.

Science has shown that musical training can change brain structure and function for the better. It can also improve long-term memory and lead to better brain development for those who start at a young age.

Studies shows that children who do 14 months of musical training displayed more powerful structural and functional brain changes.

“Learning a musical instrument increases gray matter volume in various brain regions; it also strengthens the long-range connections between them. Additional research shows that musical training can enhance verbal memory, spatial reasoning, and literacy skills,” John Rampton writes in an article in which he reveals that playing music helps your brain more than any other activity.

This year’s edition of the concert promises skillful performances on different orchestral musical instruments and on the pianoforte. Cocktail for the concert starts at 3.00 p.m. prompt.

Parents are encouraged to attend the concert and also bring their children to be inspired as they watch their peers perform on stage. Admission is free.
