As the whole world continues pushing the agenda for preservation of the environment, a Nigerian designer, Nwosu Aladimma, has taken it upon himself to propagate environmental protection through eco-friendly fashion.
On his recently unveiled ‘Reflections’ collection, the Azach line founder said: “I just wanted to do something different from what other designers are doing by fusing functionality and sustainability into fashion. Sustainable fashion is an untapped sector of fashion and we need to focus more on this. If we don’t reuse these items, they go to waste.

“I don’t want to make just fine clothes; I want to make clothes with purpose. This is why I carefully aligned my brand to have a motto that says What Works Matters.”
Blending upcycled denim pieces with retro murals, Aladimma weaves a futuristic piece for casual, street-wear fashion. He says his mandate is sewn to the overall blueprint of promoting a rethink as to how people treat the environment.
The engineer-cum-designer hinted that his subsequent collections would also be based on his eco-friendly themes.
“We are reusing items that are condemned into waste and using them as fashion. We have started with condemned denim, and we are also currently developing other materials, including plastics,” Aladimma said.
