Associates to celebrate Adelusi-Adeluyi at 80

Renowned pharmacist, a legal practitioner and Rotarian, Prince Julius Adelusi-Adeluyi, will be 80 on August 2, 2020. For a popular and highly connected statesman like him, attaining such a grand age calls for the rolling out the drums.

But two things will not let that happen. On one hand is the COVID-19 induced social distancing current in place. On the other, the Founder and Chairman of Juli Pharmacy Plc., the first indigenous company to be quoted on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, is not given to celebrating his birthdays elaborately.

To people who know how actively he participates in the celebrations of others, that is a huge irony, but this is the kind of surprises that define the life of ‘My Lord Pharmaceutical’ – as he is called by associates, based on his grounding in pharmacy and law.

In spite of the situation, however, hints from a document by the renowned scholar, Professor Lere Baale, indicates that some groups are planning to celebrate Adelusi-Adeluyi in symbolic and memorable ways, mostly e-style.

Being the past National President of the Alumni Association of the National institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPPS), Kuru, some NIPSS stakeholders are also planning a programme for him. His life is also synonymous with the ideals of the Rotary Club with an entrenched passion, which saw him become first District Governor of Rotary International District 9110 covering Nigeria in the 1982/1983 year.

He has continued to champion the organisation’s cause and members, too, are planning a programme for his 80thbirthday.

Of course, some Ekiti groups, as well as Juli Pharmacy Plc, also have an e-programme in store for the versatile man, who was at a time the Secretary General of the International Student Conference (ISC) in The Hague, Holland, where he contributed to the growth and development of student union organisations in Africa, Asia, Europe, and the Americas.
