To commemorate the launch of the Hot 8, a mid-budget series device designed for young Nigerians passionate about entertainment in the interconnected world, Infinix this week held a concert at the University of Lagos.

The concert, which held in the University’s sport center, hosted fans of the brand and students of not just UNILAG but also Lagos State University (LASU), Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH), Federal College of Education, Akoka and Yaba College of Education (YABATECH). Inheriting the brand’s spirit of providing the most cutting-edge technologies at affordable prices for youths expecially, the series has been committed to breaking the boundaries of combining the most relevant features in one device, letting customers amplify their entertainment experience in the digital space.

Speaking with The Guardian, Marketing Manager, Infinix Mobility, Amanda Zhang said, “This series aims to empower young people with boundless entertainment experience fueled by transformative mobile technology. We observe the trends of online and offline entertainment in global emerging markets where technologies apply and we discovered that young people desire to connect and share their life with their communities in various ways, such as social networking, gaming, streaming, and partying amongst others.”

“We are partnership with Google, Vskit and Boomplay and with many additional key features, we not only aim to satisfy young people’s entertainment desires, but also inspire them to explore a world of creativity with one device at an affordable cost. Now, consumers will be able to enjoy non-stop entertainment throughout the day, whether it is social networking, watching videos, capturing images, or playing games,” Zhang added.

“The fun DIRAC audio technology has now been combined with an innovative software technology called Party Mode and what this means is that the creative DIRAC sound and party mode allows multiple devices to be synchronized together to be a single sound output source. A group of friends with two or three HOT 8 devices can make their phones become a Bluetooth speaker, allowing them to maximize their party experience.”Fans were treated to an exclusive music experience as they witnessed entertaining performances from over 40 upcoming artistes, after which two of Nigeria’s finest artistes, Qdot and Mayorkun, stormed the stage to take the electrifying experience to a whole new level.

The event gave room for a clear appreciation and empowerment of young talent as some of the featured artistes had their first ever public appearance on a grand stage, performing in front of over twenty thousand people. The upcoming artistes were glad to be on stage and shared the experience with the vibrant audience, further complementing the brand’s intent of amplifying the entertainment experience of its target audience.

The concert was packed with loads of entertaining activities starting from the online photo booth engagement, where participants were instructed to take pictures in the photo booth, post online and gather engagements to stand a chance of winning awesome prizes. Winners from this engagement were duly rewarded with the new HOT 8 device. More lucky attendees also walked away with branded gift items in other sessions of the event. The brand continually reiterates its commitment towards amplifying the entertainment experience of its young and vibrant target audience and empowering them to go beyond the norm in their areas of expertise through the provision of premium devices.
