The Bluvard Education Initiative has pledged to equip young people with tools needed to break the cycle of poverty and achieve their full potential. The organisation made this pledge at the launch of its learning centre in Adamo, Ikorodu, Lagos State
The aim of the learning centre is to empower young people with essential life skills needed to thrive in today’s world. The Executive Director, Esther Edward, said: “With limited university admission and a growing number of high school graduates, many find themselves at a crossroad lacking the necessary skills and opportunities to thrive.
“At Bluvard, we are addressing this issue by creating local community, learning hubs known as Halfway Centres that would serve as a safe and supportive environment where young people can acquire essential life skills, including entrepreneurship, digital literacy, leadership, and social skills.
“So we decided to set up this place in a community like this because they are more under-represented, they are more marginalised, and so by setting up this place, we get the opportunity that those in developed areas in Lagos and Nigeria get.”
Chairman, ward B3 Isiwu Joint CDA Secretary, Ikorodu North CDC, Pastor Samson Oluwasegun Omomo, applauded the organisation for such initiative, encouraging the youths to make use of the initiative to be a better person in future.
