That BRT Friendly Warning, Pregnant Woman And Bus Attendant
T4T rides regularly on the Lagos BRT buses, especially, the Ikorodu route. Now wey petrol don dear, some of us can’t drive our tuke tuke long distance again na.
But on Wednesday was the day he saw a rather small notice just by the driver’s see through plastic glass booth and he giggled silently after reading it.
“Pay for your trip in cash and enjoy small police çase”.
It was issued by the Lagos Transport Management Company, LAMATA and simply put; it warned passengers not to pay cash before entering the bus as a passenger is required to purchase a Cowrie card, which one can load money on and swipe on a device by the door before embarking the trip. Guess only Lagos State operates that way in a government operated mass transit (T4T may be wrong o), but then, that is why Lagos is the Centre of Excellence, abi.
Now, let us go back to interrogating the friendly warning by LAMATA. Minutes before T4T saw the notice, a pregnant young woman had approached the bus attendant and told him she had no money on her Cowrie card. The attendant told her politely to walk about a hundred meters down to where the vendors were hunched together loading cards for intending passengers. T4T noticed the grimace on the face of the pregnant woman, which was an indication that the distance was too much for her, considering her condition. But she had a thousand naira note out of her bag and holding it invitingly.
Like a hawk coming down from the sky to snatch an innocent chick, T4T, but for his eagle eyes (T4T’s wife had told him on several occasions that his eyes matched that of Nollywood star, Segun Arinze’s, and T4T had not argued that claim, that is if you really know Mr. Arinze), he would have missed the moment the attendant took the money from the pregnant woman. And fiam, she stepped into the bus. Case closed!
Now, the issue is, a Magistrate and or the police would not charge the bus attendant for any offence because it was a compassionate crime he committed, come on, who would make a heavily pregnant woman walk that distance to load her card in that hot, humid condition? T4T has discharged and acquitted the attendant and the woman even before LAMATA would make them “enjoy small police case.”
By the way, in case you are in doubt, the bus route was Ikorodu to Costain and it left the Ikorodu bus terminal exactly 3.06pm on Wednesday and the registration number of the bus is BRI 22. (fill in the remaining gap).
Who Will Save P Square’s Family From This Self Destruct Mission?
SOME days ago, T4T read in the news that the nation’s anti graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, arraigned Mr. Jude Okoye, older brother and former manager of the now defunct P Square singing duo for alleged $1million theft.
Justice Rahman Oshodi will preside over the four-count charge filed against Okoye by the EFCC Prosecutor, Aso Larry Peter, on January 27, the newspapers reported even as it revealed that the older brother of Peter and Paul Okoye (former P Square) allegedly cornered $1 million and £34,537.59.
The EFCC had accused Okoye of dishonestly converting $767,544.15 paid to Lex Records Limited as music digital distribution/publishing royalties meant for Peter Okoye, with the intent to deprive him of his rightful earnings.
The anti-graft agency further alleged that between 2016 and 2023, Okoye dishonestly converted £34,537.59 from Lex Records Limited, $133,566.49 from Kobalt Music, and $118,652.23 from Mtech Limited—funds paid as music digital distribution royalties meant for Peter Okoye.
According to the EFCC, the offences, committed between 2016 and 2023, violate Sections 278 and 285 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State 2011.
Okoye had pleaded not guilty to all charges.
T4T cannot independently verify if Jude Okoye had met his bail conditions, if not, he will have to remain in prison till April for the next adjourned date of the court.
T4T is not surprised, one of the twin brothers had also dragged the other to the EFCC alleging he ‘died’ his money too, so if twin fit drag im second go EFCC na come ‘ordinary’ senior brother dem nor go fit drag to court and end for Kirikiri? T4T has asked this question before, where are the elders of Okoye family? Where is the Igwe(king) of their Anambra village? Why is everybody watching as brothers are fighting to death? Who will save P Square’s family before it self destructs?
Did The ‘500 Million Miracle Mansion’
Woman Fool Our Man of God, or…
THE question on most people’s lips at the moment is whether the woman who boldly came out to testify that she bought a 500 million naira mansion because she believed in the ‘God’ of popular Prophet (names withheld, T4T nor get power for court case., so, if you like, call our man of God name, na you sabi) deliberately fooled him and his large followers or both were in on the plot before some nosey Nigerians trailed the woman to her dingy home and busted her lie?
Well, our Prophet had gleefully announced that the woman had been arrested after her testimony was busted, but is that enough? T4T saw the video where our man of God ran round the wide open area of the church auditorium screaming after the woman dropped the Hiroshima nuclear bomb of all lies about her miraculous ‘mansion’.
The excitement was contagious and appeared genuine, not knowing say na ‘wash wash’. This is a lesson to all men of God, to avoid this kind of embarrassment, all testimonies to any miracle must be vetted by all the church protocol officials before they allow anybody to comma ‘embarrassment’ awa pasitor again.
One last question, what offence did the police arrest the woman for? For deliberately lying to the pastor and the world or what? Who did her lie really hurt? She may be ‘catching cruise’ as children of this generation call every nonsense they do on and offline.
